Returned bicycle @ 1pm... was told that it would cost me 50 rupees since he doesn't normally rent for 2 weeks.... I mentioned that this is not what he said when he rented the bicycle to me (he said the minimum is 2 weeks and that is 250 rupees). I told him I wasn't happy...
Immediately the tone of the conversation changed... I was given the money (250 rupees) and told that if I am not happy then it wasn't worth 50 rupees and he would refund it all!
This typifies conversations I have had in India. People try to take whatever they think they can. As soon as you become a bit upset and question them, they usually back down really quickly... this has been my observation anyway... Of course there have been a few people who do not back down as well...
I was very weak for practice today (maybe due to light dinner last night...) I felt this way especially during the beginning of the practice. Even considering this, it was a pretty good practice... It was especially nice when someone behind me remarked "oh that was
beautiful"... I really don't know what the person was referring to (I was completely engrossed in the practice), but it was nice of them so say that (in fact I spent the rest of the practice wondering what part I had done so well... lol)...
I couldn't hold Sirsasana long (because I was weak), I told Saraswati why and she said not to worry, some days are like this...
Saraswati helped with same Asanas as yesterday.
I rode a friends scooter around a quiet road (side road, not a main one)... it is deceptively easy to ride when going straight... but turning is tricky (if too tight a turn) without using a foot to help... I am kind of thinking about renting a scooter... we will see...
I ran around town a bit (on the back of same scooter, actually I sat on the scooter and didn't run at all).
Lastly, I helped the roommate with Internet stuff...
